Abstract :
It is proposed to allocate the resources (such as platforms, sensor-frontends and processors) in a reconfigurable sensor network based on a mission-driven utility function. Such a function enables to assess optimality of engineering solutions and it permits to decide how and where to allocate the resources, but definition of a mission-driven utility function is a challenge in its own. In this paper, current approaches in literature are evaluated and, based on them, a novel generic utility function is proposed to evaluate the end-user appreciation and enable optimal allocation of resources.
