  • Abstract
    This paper presents a recent development of fiber tip lenses for a military fiber optic transmitter and receiver application. Fiber lens design and optimization are adressed through modelling and simulation. The tolerance analysis and fabrication of the designed lenses are provided. The performance of the designed and fabricated fiber lens is also tested and evaluated by conducting a series of laser diode to fiber coupling experiments.
