Abstract
Two techniques are introduced and combined to improve SAR imaging of TWR scenarios, namely wall estimation and spectral estimation imaging using MUSIC. It was shown that homogeneous walls can be eliminated from SAR images although a significant amount of clutter remains if the wall shows inhomogeneities. Furthermore, applying the MUSIC algorithm can significantly clear up the image and make the targets behind the wall more visible. In conclusion, both the described wall estimation technique and MUSIC imaging can enhance TWR images, allowing a clearer interpretation or building a more reliable basis for further processing like target detection.
