Abstract :
In this paper, efficient CFAR detection algorithm is proposed for non-homogeneous clutter environment. Fisher distribution, which is well fits to non-homogeneous SAR image, is considered as clutter environment. The parameter estimation of Fisher model requires iterative computation therefore the Fisher model has not been used for CFAR detection. To overcome this problem an asymptotic approximation based parameter estimation is proposed and the CFAR detector based on the approximated parameter estimation is proposed for improvement of false alarm performance. Finally, detection results using SAR image is presented for performance evaluation and the detection results show that the proposed method outperforms in non-homogeneous clutter region.
