Abstract :
In wireless sensor networks (WSNs), energy consumption remains one of the major limitations of this technology. Since WSN costs lot of energy to transmit data from node to node, it is reasonable to reduce power consumption by reducing data transfer. In our previous research, D-BEDCA uses bounded-error data compression to compress data and keep the data distortion in certain range at the same time. However, it has some shortages. In this paper, IBEC is proposed to improve both the temporal correlation compression and the data correlation compression in D-BEDCA. We also design a new spatial correlation compression scheme for IBEC.
