Abstract :
Optimization theories and algorithms such as linear programming have long been used to find the best solutions in production planning and scheduling. Web services are software functions that can be accessed and called over the Internet. The network enabled optimization system (NEOS) has been developed at Argonne National Laboratory. NEOS consists of next generation optimization servers as Web services. Most current users of NEOS are researchers and scientists. We are building a production planning and optimization Web services for manufacturing planners to be able to leverage the state of the art NEOS and generate globally optimized cross supply chain network, real time, and flexible plans
