Abstract :
The movement of wave can be interpreted by time or space in digital waveguide model that is commonly used as a sound synthesis model. Time based models are generally used because of the sound sample is based on a time interval. We tried to model the string of the string instrument by the spatial sampling. And we appended the body model of string instrument to the space based waveguides model. In that manner, we could improve the synthesized sound quality and added the additional parameters which control the tone color. In this thesis, we discuss the fractional delay error that arises from the string and body in space based sampling and we showed the method to handle the fractional delay using FD filter. And we explained the change of synthesized sound by number of delays.
