Abstract :
This paper describes a method of embedding into wideband amplifiers a prescribed group delay response that can cancel out or compensate for the effects of dispersive media in a given signal path. The method can be applied to a selection of system situations, and is based around a distributed amplifier topology. This provides the best opportunity to operate as close as possible to the device cut off frequency and still achieve flat amplitude responses. The simulation results of a MMIC implementation are reported to verify the approach
