Abstract :
This paper introduces the use of a system identification approach to the lightning striking distance problem. After a brief introduction to system identification and nonlinear parameter estimation methodology, a comparison of some striking distance models architectures in the literature is presented. The model architectures were compared based on how well they approximated the data collected by Eriksson from 2D and 3D photography
