Abstract
In ultra-wideband (UWB) impulse fuse, the sampling rate is extremely high if using traditional Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem. In this paper, we apply compressive sensing (CS) to recover the impulse fuse echo with much fewer samples. This paper first assumes a sylvan environment for the impulse fuse in which the transmitting waveform is the plus-minus Gaussian pulse. Then orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) is applied to reconstruct the under-sampled echo data. Analysis of the algorithm´s performance in terms of the recovery time, recovery error and matching rate is conducted. Simulation results show that by using CS, the dimension of the impulse fuse echo can be greatly reduced. In addition, the OMP recovery algorithm could reconstruct the echo data accurately under some limited conditions.
