Abstract :
The F2 layer critical frequency (foF2) plays a fundamental part in prediction of ionospheric conditions. Such predictions which involve the propagation of radio waves through ionosphere are necessary to establish radio communications links with the best reliability. For short links paths, radio users need local maps. A method of modelling for long term radio propagation prediction around an ionospheric station as a function of solar activity and taking into account the upward and downward phases of the solar cycle is presented
