Abstract :
A scheme of PA (product accumulate) code employing pulse-position modulation is investigated for space optical communications. Over a Poisson channel, simulation is conducted. Simulation results show that the PA code has excellent BER (bit error rate) and low error floor. In addition, EXIT (extrinsic information transfer) chart is employed to analyze the BER performance and error floor for PA code. The results are in accord with that of the simulations.
