Abstract :
A multifunction protective relay using advanced digital signal processing (DSP) technology under the control of a dedicated microprocessor is described. This relay provides all protective functions required by most cogenerators. The principle protection requirements satisfied by the multifunction relay are discussed. Design considerations of the relay are presented, and relay hardware and software development is described
