Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a new spectral search-based direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation method which extends the concept of the conventional ESPRIT DOA estimator to a much more general class of array geometries than assumed in the conventional ESPRIT technique. A computationally efficient search-free implementation of the proposed generalized ESPRIT algorithm is also developed. Simulation results compare our approach and the rank reduction (RARE) algorithm, which are shown to have nearly identical performance.
