Abstract :
A chipless radio frequency identification, RFID, tag is a structure that, when excited, scatters a unique signature which is inherent to the structure. Data is encoded as natural resonances in the structure and retrieved from the scattered field. Data retrieval is based on Singularity-Expansion-Method (SEM) analysis in the complex frequency domain using target identification techniques. If we are to retrieve the data from a pole signature, we must first extract the poles from the scattered fields (a summation of damped sinusoidal waveforms). This is accomplished by considering the scattered time-domain waveform and using one of several methods for extracting poles. For the work presented in this paper, we used Matrix Pencil Algorithm which has the ability to cope with noise.
