Abstract :
In this paper a folded bow-tie antenna is presented. The bow-tie fold is achieved with a connection between similar locations along the two halves of the bow-tie. The input impedance obtained with a single fold is nominally 400 Ω, and the center frequency of a matched condition to that impedance is dependent on the position of the folded connection. Modeled input impedance as a function of fold placement is presented and validated with measurement, demonstrating novel spectral tuning through placement of the fold connection.
