  • Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to show a step by step strategy to design and implement a RF&MW amplifier. Bilateral case was first discussed and applied to stability analysis. Then unilateral case was considered for gain circles analysis. Once the stability and gain circles were obtained on a Smith chart, the input and output matching circuits were designed. A microwave design simulator was used to optimize the bilateral, bias and implementation for the amplifier. An 8 GHz 10 dB micro strip line low noise amplifier has proved the validity of our step by step approach.
