Abstract :
Phase noise causes degradation in the performance of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based wireless communication systems. The phase noise presence can reduce effective signal to noise ratio (SNR) at the receiver, reduces the bit error rate (BER) and data rate. Phase noise introduces two effects: common phase error (CPE) and inter-carrier interference (ICI) and therefore degrade system performance. Many methods have been developed in the literature to mitigate the phase noise in OFDM. In this paper various techniques of phase noise mitigation in OFDM system has been discussed and analyzed.
