Abstract :
In this paper, a compact CPW fed UWB monopole-like slot antenna with band-notched characteristic is proposed. The notched band is achieved by embedding spurlines onto the fork-shaped feeding stubs and easily tuned to locate the notched band by adjusting the length of the spur-lines. The antenna prototype printed on a piece of FR4 substrate of 26 mm x 29 mm x 1.5 mm achieves good impedance matching over an operating bandwidth of 2.8-13.1 GHz with the notched frequency band of 5-6 GHz. Moreover, the proposed antenna features less ground plane dependence, which is desirable for practical applications.
