Abstract
This work proposes the use of pass-band tunable-frequency selective surfaces for beam-steering and beam-forming applications. In particular, it has been demonstrated that a FSS based on varactor-loaded rectangular slots can be used to locally control the phase of the transmitted field without suffering amplitude losses. Also, a multilayer configuration can be adopted to increase the achievable phase range.
