Abstract :
The performance of a ray-tracing model for received power prediction in an underground mine gallery has been presented. The error involved in the prediction is less than 6.5 dB. This error is less than the deviation observed during measurement. The sensitivity study clearly shows parameters which affect the model efficiency values. Also, the electromagnetic parameters (εΓ , σ) in the studied gallery are definitively proposed and hardly affects the model output. Their restricted influence on the model depends on the contribution of the number of reflected rays that have reached the receiving antenna. Antenna localization, in the model, must be done carefully by taking in to account the gallery geometry configuration. This work also presents calibration system for non linear or complex data analysis. A genetic algorithm has been used here to achieve the calibration goals.
