Abstract
Displayed brightness and contrast are two of the factors that have impact on the 3D quality of experience. In this paper, we quantitatively investigate the effect of brightness and contrast on the viewers´ quality of experience when watching 3D videos on 3D displays requiring active or passive glasses. Our results show that people prefer 3D displays that deliver brighter images. Our study also shows that the preferred range of contrast for viewers is -0.5 to 1.5.
