Abstract :
This paper presents a solution for visualization of DTV related data on devices with Android OS. The main goal was to display DTV related data on Android graphical layer using native C/C++ code. We have visualized three distinctive DTV related data types: subtitles, multimedia (MHEG) and teletext information, all collected by the DTV middleware software layer. The DTV middleware is responsible for providing all of the DTV related features and is written in C/C++ native code. The Android DTV application communicates with DTV middleware through DTV Java service. The DTV Java service and the DTV middleware are connected through the JNI layer, which converts the DTV related data from C/C++ structures to Java objects and vice versa. All rendering is done in C/C++ native code which provides sufficient speed of program execution and accomplishes high-performance demands requested by our project.
