Abstract
Current HD and 3D TV sets still have to cope with various input content resolutions that have to be displayed in native Full HD or higher resolution. Typical up-scaling methods only make use of spatial information in order to compute a high resolution output. Most of these methods show a low ability to reconstruct high frequency details. In this paper a method for reconstructing details from multiple input frames of a Stereo 3D sequence and generating a high detail output is presented. Utilizing temporally recursive processing, a memory efficient method is realized, which can be used for detail level enhancement post-processing in current 3D TV sets. Due to internal reliability estimation for motion and disparity vectors, the proposed method shows a high robustness against artifacts from erroneous motion and disparity compensation.
