  • Abstract
    A commutator automatic slotting machine is a special equipment in the rotor commutator slotting of the DC motors. The detection and location of the commutator mica slot is its key technology. In this paper, a design method is put forward to implement real-time tracking and automatic indexing of the commutator mica slot by using advanced video image processing technology. Under the control of the micro controller, a video image of the commutator is taken by the CCD camera and processed by sync separation and hardware binarization to locate the commutator mica slot. At the same time, the rotor is driven by the stepping motor to align the mica slot and the cutter, and complete the slotting process of the commutator mica. This commutator automatic slotting machine has a variety of operating modes. It has the advantages of being convenient in use, prompt in response, accurate in positioning and strong in applicability.
