  • Abstract
    We prove that there exists a canonical *-homomorphism from the reduced semigroup C*-algebra to the reduced group C*-algebra for an abelian group. And we also prove that the quotient algebra of the reduced semigroup C*-algebra with its commutator algebra is isomorphic to the reduced group C*-algebra.
