Abstract
Analysis and design formulas of 3-phase Written-Pole™ motor are deduced with a 1D magnetic circuit method. The study of this machine is done by 3-dimensional finite element electromagnetic computation software. The 3-dimensional model of a 30 hp/3-phase motor is constructed and FFT analysed, which gives the amplitude and phase angle of the fundamental and harmonic components. Finite element (FE) computation to the model with electromagnetic software was used to check the ID magnetic circuit method Technical and economical possibilities to scale the power level of these devices down to 1 kW and up to the MW level are given
