Abstract
The firm of the future will be severely challenged on many fronts, both internal and external. The only meaningful options open to senior management are to improve the ability of their people, organisation and technologies to react rapidly, appropriately and cohesively to the challenges as they arrive. The ideal organisation will encourage freedom of discussion, decision making and action at the lowest possible level, by individuals or teams. The author believes that this means a continuing process of change of culture to create a flexible organisation with a positive attitude to change and discontent with how we do things today
