Abstract :
In this paper, a mathematical model for electromagnetic field calculation in design of power substation grounding system in transient state is presented. This model has been derived by applying electromagnetics and mathematics to practical engineering and is applicable in many cases regardless of frequency, while a similar model reported in P.D. Rancic et al. (1996, 1992) is limited to very low frequency. This is a result of elegantly applying mathematics to practical engineering problem without any simplification introduced in the derivation. In addition, the derived model has been validated via computer simulation
