Abstract :
In order to make the transfer more effective and convenient for passengers, the intersection is always the perfect location for the bus stop. But there occurs the blocking effect of the buses that stop within intersection area. Based on the traffic flow theory and probability theory, the signalized intersection capacity is analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively with the consideration of the on-line bus stop which is at the near-side of the intersection. For the two different signal type of loading lane, the model of the adjustment factor for bus stop (fbb) is established. Then the study on the factors and its sensitivity analysis about the impact on the capacity due to the bus stop has been conducted. The results show that both the distance between the bus stop and intersection stop line and the arrival rate of the bus loading lane affect the signalized intersection capacity greatly, and there exists an optimum value of the combination of these two factors to the capacity.
