Abstract
The authors present the steady-state modeling, performance evaluation, and experimental verification of the key results of a variable-speed constant-frequency power conversion scheme with a permanent magnet synchronous generator. The constant-frequency power conversion is effected with a line-commutated converter. Full-wave converters are considered. The design of the power conversion scheme, including the ratings of the power converters, is systematically developed and given. The merits and demerits of this power conversion scheme are described.<>
