Abstract
Nowadays distribution networks may suffer from large voltage deviations as a direct consequence of distributed power generation. This condition may interfere with the proper operation of sensitive equipment and cause damage to expensive equipment; therefore measures need to be taken to control the voltage profile in the local grid. In this paper, the structure and performance of a distribution transformer with an integrated electronic tap changer, which allows changing the turns ratio along the standard range of +/− 5% is described. Some results are exhibited that demonstrate its adequacy.
