Abstract :
To quantify environmental benefits of reduced vehicle emissions pollution of developing underground urban freeway, formula of Pollutant Quantity from Vehicle Emissions was first introduced to quantify respective emissions of CO, HC and NOx from various vehicles in underground urban freeway per second per kilometer. A model for quantifying environmental benefits of reduced pollution of these three kinds of gases per second of underground urban freeway was set up. North-South Corridor, one roadway of ldquo#rdquo Form Underground Roadways Network of CBD Core Area in Shanghai, was researched as a case study and its environmental benefits were calculated.
