Abstract
The UK MoD HPM Principal Programme is a three-year industry and academia-based research initiative aimed at advancing the UK knowledge base in pulsed-power technology. The programme places a strict emphasis on those technologies that have a clear route to eventual defence applications. This paper gives an overview of the research that has been carried out during the first year. Considerable advances have been made in many of the technology areas covered by the programme
