Abstract :
A complete characterization of two-dimensional degree-one (deg-1) lossless two-port network is given using at most three parameters. Both infinite and finite impulse responses are considered. The resulting characterization is implemented using Gray-Markel (GM) sections and delays of two different types. This novel characterization has a great deal of application in the design of higher dimensional passive digital filters. An example using a discretized lossless transmission line as a two port network is used to demonstrate the result
