Abstract :
We developed the composites of carbon nanotube with silicon dioxide (SiO/sub 2/) nanoparticle for FED. To compare with pure CNT emission, different composite of CNT dielectric was tested. Density of CNT was controlled by adjusting silicon nanoparticle. It was found that when about 36 wt% CNT is optimum content, it has higher enhancement factor and less shied-effect. This cathode has significantly improved emission property and stable emission characterization, and also has higher current density. It is suitable for FED for uniform reliable, and low cost.
