Abstract :
Starting from the international and category level standards the current state of research about histogram based testing of ADC´s is drawn. The research activity is reported classifying the existing histogram test approaches in terms of the stimulus signals, divided in standard, non standard deterministic, and non standard stochastic ones. The performances of the non standard approaches are compared with the standard ones. The advantages and drawbacks for each stimulus signal are discussed in detail.
