Abstract :
In this paper, a fast estimation method is proposed to obtain the maximum-likelihood estimation of the instantaneous frequency of the output wave of a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) from a large signal network analyzer (LSNA) measurement. A 1650 MHz device that is swept over a 4 MHz frequency range is characterized to show the applicability and the speed of the proposed technique.
