Abstract :
For the detection of multiple gas lines, high tuning ability of light sources in the entire mid-infrared is desirable. This requirement can be met by quantum cascade lasers with a broadband active region design operated in a grating-coupled external cavity setup. In order to optimize the mirror reflectivities for the set-up both the back and front laser facet are coated with a high-reflectivity and anti-reflectivity coating respectively.
