Abstract
For the bistatic synthetic aperture radar (BiSAR) data, the range cell migration (RCM) in the range-Doppler (RD) domain has not linear dependency on the bistatic range, and the residual errors of the linear range cell migration correction (RCMC) lead to severe image degradation, especially at the edges of the range swath, if not removed. This paper quantitatively analyzes the effect of the residual errors and presents a new bistatic algorithm using extended chirp scaling for focusing the bistatic translational invariant SAR data. Simulations show that the new algorithm can get better focusing performance very much.
