Abstract
The present paper focuses on the assessment of the electromagnetic field in the radiating near field (also referred as Fresnel) region of a radiator, which represents a topic of growing interest for assessment of human exposure to radiofrequency electromagnetic field. A first version of the method has been recently presented by our group and successfully applied to linear arrays. In this paper a set of possible solutions for the generalization of such approach are presented and evaluated, in order to make it suitable for the estimation of the field generated by any kind on source with any current distribution. The proposed approaches are still easy-to-apply and computational efficient. All the proposed solutions are first introduced from a theoretical point of view and then validated and investigated by means of comparisons with full-wave simulations.
