  • Abstract
The digital electrotechnology having most impact within society today is provided, in various forms, via computers. Dedicated and specialized digital computations impact the everyday welfare of citizens in all nations of the world. Their commercial, financial and environmental well-being is increasingly assisted by the power of computational engines. The combined computational and communications engine promises to bring the best features of social and commercial interchange across the globe, covering education, welfare and trade, into more diversified communication networks. Satellite access will become an important element of these networks, particularly for the developing world. Further, it is encouraging to note the newly resurgent interests in communications satellite roles within the proposed architectures of national information infrastructures (information superhighways) in the economically developed nations
