Abstract :
The Binary Offset Carrier (BOC) modulation has been selected by the four most influential Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and several other regional ranging systems. Although the Autocorrelation Function (ACF) of BOC has sharper main peak and better multipath mitigation performance than BPSK, its multiple side peaks cause ambiguity in signal acquisition and tracking. In this paper, we present a new receiving detection function, which is a combination of the ACF and the cross-correlation function (CCFB-P) between BOC and the pseudorandom noise, which can not only remove the ambiguity without any degradation in the tracking performance but also enhance the discrimination by sharpening the main peak of detection function and achieve a notable improved multipath envelop. Simulation results agree with the theoretical analysis.
