Abstract
Heuristic models developed for surface mounted monopole antennas in dissipative media have been shown to be valid for disc and cylindrical structures, within stated limitations. Studies are continuing in the refinement of these approximate models, for disc, cylinder, and other curved surfaces and more realistic full-scale experimentation is being planned to take place on completion of a new sea-water harbour test facility being established by the author´s university department
