Abstract :
We present our solution for constructing a monopulse system for the identification and location of microwave radiation sources. Our passive measuring system consists of: cylindrical directional antenna array system; beam forming unit (BFU) for detected signals; phase discriminator as a unit for measuring the phase shift of signals from the BFU. Signals detected by the antennas are transformed by the BFU into individual outputs. Every output has strictly determined phase conditions. The location is estimated using data from the microwave phase discriminator (MPD) connected to selected outputs of the BFU. The beam forming unit outputs can be used to obtain additional information about the detected source of radiation. We show the results of experimental measurements performed for the system working in the 2-4 GHz waveband.
