Abstract :
Solutions of emeraldine, polyaniline Perchlorate and tetrafluorborate in DMFA have been shown be able to interact with V/sub 2/O/sub 5/ aqueous sol to form the intercalation-type conducting composites PAn/sub 0/ /sub 65/V/sub 2/O/sub 5/ (I) (PAn HC10/sub 4.) /sub 52/V/sub 2/O/sub 5/ (II) and (PAn HBF/sub 4/)/sub 0/ /sub 55/V/sub 2/O/sub 5/ [III]. According to X ray data the difraction data the polymer chains are incorporated between the layers of the V/sub 2/O/sub 5/ matrix, thereby increasing its interlaying spacing up to 13,8 and 14,0 A for PAn and PAn-HX, respectively. In ESR spectrum (I) a narrow sing let (g=2,002) and a broad singlet (g=1,968) are in evidence which fact may apparently point to the Intercalation compound having been formed via charge transfer from the organic polymeric chain to the vanadium(V) ions. Unlike (I), ESR spectrum(II) has been found to have no narrow singlet of the organic framework which may be relevant to the high conductivity of this composite. It has been shown that In the case of a doped PAn being incorporated in the V/sub 2/O/sub 5/occur a partial V /sup 4+/ions passage from the lamellar V/sub 2/O/sub 5/ structure to the polymer matrix as evidenced by the appearance In the ESR spectrum (II) of an octet (a=95 G) apparently attributable to the hyperfine structure of the VO/sub2/ cations spectrum, It has been found that fine-dispersed V O particles be capable to incorporated in the polymeric film during the electrochemical synthesis of PAn in propylenecarbonate to form thin-film V/sub 2/O/sub 5/ -filled PAn electrodes. As showm by X-ray difraction In the film synthesized there are no PAn incorporated in the V/sub 2/O/sub 5/ matrix and no charge transfer from the PAn to the V O/sub 2.5/ It has been revealed that incorporated V/sub 2/O/sub 5/ particles critically Influence the electrochemical behaviour of the PAn film as evidenced by broad anodic peak(E/sub pa/ =0,82 V) and cathodic peak(E/sub pc/ = 0,03 V)) observed in the CVA of PA- HC10/sub 4/(V/sub 2/O/sub 5)/sub x/
