Abstract :
In this paper, we consider the combined effect of antenna diversity and Spread Spectrum (SS) diversity for a wireless system using M-ary Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (MQAM). Both Maximum Ratio Combining (MRC) and Selection Combining (SC) are considered, and Bit Error Rate (BER) for SS diversity with MRC, and antenna diversity with SC are computed and simulated. We compare channel capacity of a Single-Input-Multiple-Output (SIMO) channel using a hybrid diversity technique to that of the stand-alone techniques.
