  • Abstract
In this paper an experimental validation of the results obtained studying the reflection of a UWB pulse by a multilayer human body model is performed. The simulated received signal presents a first reflection due to the air-skin interface and a second small reflection due to the interface between the posterior lung wall and the bone. Measurements with commercial impulse radar have been conducted to assess the simulation results, confirming that the second refection is well distanced in time from the first one and that it can be used to detect lung and heart movements associated with the cardio-respiratory activity.
