Abstract :
Modeling and simulation (M&S) tools and capabilities can enable understanding of the complex nature of systems in various homeland security domains. A coordinated effort across government, industry, and academia would advance capabilities in this important area. Initiating such an effort requires establishing a common understanding or framework that shares the current knowledge in M&S. This paper describes an outline for a knowledge-sharing framework that could be developed and maintained by the community interested in tracking and guiding coordinated development efforts in homeland security modeling, simulation, and analysis (MSA).
