Abstract :
The HNBR/OMMT nanocomposite materials are prepared by molten intercalation method using hydrogenated nitrile butyl rubber (HNBR) and organic montmorillonite (OMMT) as raw materials. Three kinds of OMMT precursors and two kinds of vulcanization agents are investigated in the synthesis of HNBR/OMMT materials. The XRD and TEM results show that the nanostructure OMMT sheets are highly dispersed in the HNBR/OMMT matrix, and the polymer chain part of rubber has been intercalated into the montmorillonite layers, which is the characterizations of nanocomposite materials. In the mechanical property tests, sulfur vulcanized composite material show better performance than peroxide vulcanized composite material. And, for the evaluation of medium resistance, the HNBR/OMMT nanocomposites prepared by using OMMT (1.30P) and OMMT (1.44P) as precursors show greater mechanical properties than OMMT (1.24TL) after the medium resistance test.
